Top Priority To Law And Order Maintenance During Coming Festive Season: CM

The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday said that maintenance of law and order will be the top priority of the State Government during the forthcoming Ramzan and Bonalu celebrations. He sought the cooperation of all elders from all religions political parties and organisations to ensure perfect harmony during the festivals since both Ramzan and Bonalu are being celebrated simultaneously.

The Chief Minister asked all the departments concerned including the Police Department and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to see that the festivals go on smoothly and that arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the prayers and celebrations.

The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs.2.5 crores towards the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Ramzan festival and the amount could be spent to provide basic facilities in all masjids of the State.

Kiran Kumar Reddy today held a review meeting on Ramzan and Bonalu arrangements at Jubilee hall. He said that all steps will be taken by all departments concerned for the smooth conduct of the festival. He asked the Chief Secretary Dr.P.K.Mohanty to send a circular to all district collectors to conduct the Ramzan coordination meetings at district level.

The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said that after a gap of 33 years, the Bonalu and Ramzan festivals are occurring at the same time. He informed that police department is taking all steps to maintain peace during festival. The Police department is also making elaborate arrangements for the bandobust, traffic regulation and to maintain law and order. For parking during prayer times, near by government buildings will be made available. A joint control room pertaining to issues of GHMC and Police department will be set up to solver any problem, he informed.

The GHMC Commissioner, M.T.Krishna Babu informed that 60 additional vehicles are being arranged for debris clearing. HMWSSB official informed that water supply will be made as per schedule and 300 additional water tankers will be made available for continuous water supply. One water tanker to supply water to Mecca Masjid on daily basis exclusively.

The APCPDCL CMD Rizvi said that for uninterrupted power supply at Mecca Masjid two mobile transformers will be made available and also an officer will be deputed for monitoring. Load maintenance, voltage problems will be taken care, he informed.

The Civil Supplies Commissioner, Sunil Sharma said that an additional quota of half kg sugar will be distributed through fair price shops during the festival month. The Labour Commissioner, Ashok Kumar informed that rules will be relaxed for night bazaars during Ramzan month. Required milk will be made available for general public during festival days according to APDDC M.D.Rafath Ali. MA&UD Minister Mr.Mahidhar Reddy said that sewerage works in old city will be taken up. He informed that Rs.50 crores will be released towards these works. Hyderabad District Collector Mukhesh Kumar Meena told that Mecca Masjid and Royal Masjid maintenance works are being taken up.

The District in-charge Minister, Dr.J.Geetha Reddy, Civil Supplies Minister D.Sreedhar Babu, MPs, Asaduddin Owaisi, Anjan Kumar Yadav, M.A.Khan, MLCs Prabhakar, Mahamood Ali, Altaf Rizvi, Jaffri, MLAs Balala, Virasat Rasool Khan, Mozam Khan, Mumtaz Khan made suggestions for the smooth conduct of the festivals. Senior I.A.S officers Adhar Sinha, Rizvi, Ashok Kumar, Hyderabad District Collector Mukhesh Kumar Meena, Ranga, Reddy District Collector B.Sreedhar and other officers also attended the meeting. (NSS)
