Hyderabad, January 02: Outlining the priorities of the State Government in the New Year, Chief Minister K Rosaiah today declared that Jalayagnam, education and healthcare programmes will be given priority. He stated that irrigation projects which are in advanced stages of completion will be given top priority in budget allocations.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Rosaiah wanted people in the State to rededicate themselves for development and strengthening of the State. He hoped that the State would soon recover from the financial repercussions of global meltdown which affected the financial condition of the State severely. He said that the Government will calculate its past mistakes and will not repeat them this year. He also hoped that the State will not face drought or floods this year.
Recalling the events of 2009, Rosaiah termed the death of former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the chopper crash as a nightmarish experience. He assured to take forward all the welfare and infrastructure or developmental activities which were initiated by Rajasekhara Reddy under any circumstances.
He said that there could be procedural delay in releasing funds for programmes like fee reimbursements but the Government will continue all its schemes.
