Cuttack, April 12: Subhashree Das alias Mili, wife of top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda today filed a rejoinder in Orissa High Court in response to state government’s affidavit claiming that she was arrested after sunset at 3 am on January 15 and not at 3 pm as claimed by the police.
Submitting the rejoinder on behalf of Mili, her father Dhanurdhar Das argued that the arrest memo indicated the apprehension was effected at 3 am and also the witness in whose presence the arrest was made had signed the memorandum indicating the time of arrest as 3 am.
The petitioner alleged violation of human rights claiming the arrest of the woman was made after sunset without the presence of a magistrate, which is not allowed under law.
