Tehran, February 08: Esfandiyar Rahim-Mashaei delivered a written message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Assad during Tuesday’s meeting.
Ahmadinejad’s message focused on Tehran-Damascus mutual relations, as well as the need for bilateral cooperation in boosting scientific and technological cooperation, IRIB reported.
The Iranian official, who arrived in Damascus on Monday for the opening of an exhibition featuring the latest technologies from Iran, is expected to meet with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem later in the day.
Al-Assad praised the Islamic Republic’s scientific and technological achievements and expressed interest in importing some of the latest know-how to his country, the IRIB report added.
