Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were on Thursday killed in an encounter in Avantipore district of Jammu and Kashmir.
While the security forces were closing in on the positions of the militants, they opened fired. The Indian troops retaliated strongly and killed two Hizbul Mujahideen militants one of whom was identified as a top commander of the militant outfit.
On September 30,2014, Indian security forces had gunned down and unidentified militant in Kupwara district.
