Too HOT in Hyderabad Temperature touches 43 degrees Celsius

Hyderabad, April 14: Tuesday’s maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the city was this decade’s hottest temperature in the month of April, thanks to the heat wave conditions prevailing in the State since the last week of March.

The highest temperature in the month of April 43.3 degrees Celsius, 11 years back. The next highest temperature was 42.8 degrees Celsius in April 2000.

In both the instances the temperature had peaked in the last week of April. The data from Met Department indicates that this is the first time that the temperature broke the charts in mid-April itself.

Similarly, the minimum temperatures too have touched a new high literally with Tuesday registering a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius while Monday registered the highest minimum temperature of 28.7 degrees Celsius. This is a departure from normal by six degrees Celsius, Met officials informed.

Heat wave

“What this essentially means is that the temperature can’t get cooler than 28 degrees Celsius and this is due to the heat wave,” said a Met official.

The temperature is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius in the city on Wednesday with partly cloudy sky.
