Bangalore, October 13: Rejecting both the pleas of the five independent MLAs for staying their disqualification and allowing them to vote in sealed covers, Karnataka High Court today ordered that tomorrow’s trust vote in the Legislative Assembly would be subject to the final decision on the writ petition filed by them.
The court’s order came in the wake of the urgent interim applications filed by the five independent MLAS who pleaded for immediate stay on the impugned order of Speaker K G Bopaiah.
The MLAs also pleaded that they be allowed to vote in sealed covers which could be kept with the Registrar of the court and in case they succeeded in their writ petition, their votes be counted or vice-versa.
