Following the call of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that every citizen should plant saplings in the city to make it a green carpet under the prestigious “Telanganaku Haritha Haram” program, several top Tollywood actors like Akkineni Nagarjuna and megastar Chiranjeevi plunged into “action” and planted saplings at several places in the city.
On Monday, while Akkineni Nagarjuna planted saplings on the premises of his family’s Annapurna Studios at Banjara Hills, his actor wife Akkineni Amala has done the job in Kukatpally. Congress leader and former megastar Chiranjeevi planted saplings in Jubilee Hills. The actors also distributed saplings to the citizens and called upon the people to plant saplings as their prime duty in order to protect environment.
Planting a sapling in KBR Park at Banjara Hills, actor Sreekanth exhorted the citizens to plant and nurture saplings as their primary duty of protecting environment from pollution. Stating that Haritha Haram was a good program that would protect mankind from disastrous effects of pollution, Sreekanth said the cine industry would be s second to none in supporting such good programs. Senior actor and MAA president Rajendraprasad, heroine Regina and others film stars also participated in the program in the park.
Responding to “Maha Haritha Haram program” call, actor Allu Arjun, his wife and son planted saplings on the premises of his house at Jubilee Hills where his father and producer Allu Aravind and others also participated. Arjun also exhorted parents to make their children to participate in the program and plant saplings.
Hero Daggubati Rana lent his support to the State government’s prestigious Haritha Haram program and planted two saplings at Nanakramguda village. “Good Morning. This is how my day begins. Tree Plantation in Nanakramguda. Make you are also Green”, he tweeted before planting the saplings.
Actors Manchu Lakshmi, Hema, “Zabardasth” Rakesh, Kalakeya Prabhakar and others also planted trees in the city to contribute for Bangaru Telangana. (NSS)
