Hyderabad: Telugu actor Jaya Prakash Reddy who was known for his best comedy and antagonist roles passed away at the age of 74 due to heart attack in the wee hours of Tuesday (September 8) at his residence in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
His journey in the world of cinema
The actor made his on screen debut when he was in his 40s. He was working as a sub-inspector of police when he got an opportunity to act in Venkatesh’s 1988 film Brahma Puthrudu.
However, Jaya Prakash Reddy’s major break came ten years later with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 1999 film Samarasimha Reddy. His turn as the antagonist speaking flawless Rayalaseema-slang made him a household name. And he never looked back.
Jaya Prakash was a master of dialects and could speak any Telugu slang especially ‘Rayalaseema’ effortlessly. He therefore carved a niche for himself in the Telugu film industry speaking in the Rayalaseema dialect in most of his films.
His grip on the language was so flawless that it helped him to deliver a few amazing performances not only in Telugu industry but also in Tamil.
He was also a theatre artiste and before the lockdown, he was busy with the play Alexander.

Jaya Prakash Reddy was last seen in Sarileru Neekevvaru that starred Mahesh Babu and released in January this year.
