Tokyo:Tokyo shares opened the trading on Monday lower on the yen’s advance that hurt export-related shares.
At 9.15 a.m. (local time), the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 193.37 points, or 1.22 percent, from Friday to 15,628.15, Xinhua news agency reported.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 16.43 points, or 1.28 percent, to 1, 271.26.
