Tension gripped near Meghani Circle in Bhavnagar on Yesterday, after Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia asked Bajrang Dal volunteers to evict Muslims from Hindu-dominated areas by force.
He was protesting outside a building bought by a Muslim businessman near Meghani Circle on Saturday evening.
Togadia asked the Muslim occupant to vacate the house within 48 hours.
“If he does not vacate, go with stones, tyres and tomatoes to his office. There is nothing wrong in it. Killers of Rajiv Gandhi have not been hanged..there is nothing to fear and the case will go on”, Togadia told the mob.
“I have done it in the past and Muslims have lost both property and money,” he said.
He also said that this election is the best time to pressurize political parties to ensure safety of Hindus. “Don’t be reluctant to pressurize Congress or BJP for the sake of Hindus’ safety,” he said.
Today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded the immediate arrest of VHP leader Dr Praveen Togadia for his alleged hate speech. In a press release, “The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemns the hate speech given by Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s president Pravin Togadia in Bhavnagar.
