MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Monday asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to explain as to how he plans to generate 20,000 MW of power in the next three to five years.
Participating in the debate on energy crisis in the evening session of Legislative Assembly on Monday, Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the government would need an investment of Rs 1.2 lakh crore to generate 20,000 MW. He sought to know how the Chief Minster plans to raise those funds. “You are promising Biryani after three to five years. But we are hungry today and need a simple roti. Therefore, first think about roti and then go for Biryani,” he told the Chief Minister.
Intervening on the issue, the Chief Minister said raising funds would not be a problem if the State Government shows its resolve to initiate the projects.
The MIM leader also slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his role in worsening the power crisis in Telangana State. Stating that KCR has played a major role in formation of Telangana, he hoped that the Chief Minister will prove his efficiency in running the government effectively.
At this point, Congress MLA Dr J Geetha Reddy intervened and said it was Sonia Gandhi who gave Telangana State. To this, Akbar Owaisi said he was not giving credit to anyone for formation of Telangana, but praising a person who has been voted to power by the people.
Akbar Owaisi asked the Chief Minister to take opposition into confidence to resolve the issue. (INN)
