Keeping in view the international scenario on the farm prices, export prices and requirement submitted by the Indian tobacco Association (ITA), the Tobacco Board today fixed a crop size of 170 m kgs for Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha for the crop season 2012-13. At its 134th meeting here today, the Board resolved the shifting of Barns from Keesara, Thorredu auction platforms, Thulluru and Bhadrachalam area to any other soil regions of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The Board also decided to permit the growers to shift their barns by sale / self shifting to any other soil regions in Andhra Pradeshand Karnataka based on the representations received from various grower associations. The Board recommended the Ministry of Commerce to permit the Board to redistribute the leftover crop of 1.76 m kgs during the year 2011-12 crop season to all the soil regions equally.
