Chennai: In a major development in Tamil Nadu, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) on Wednesday entered into an electoral alliance with the People’s Welfare Front (PWF) for the upcoming assembly polls.
The DMDK will contest from 124 seats while the PWF will field their candidates in 110 seats.
Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on May 16 while the results will be announced on May 19.
Tamil Nadu has 234 assembly seats. In the 2011 assembly elections, AIADMK had won 150, DMDK-29, DMK-23, CPM-10, CPI-9 and others-13 seats respectively. (ANI)
