Chennai : Minister of State for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar on Sunday said Tamil Nadu deserves a better administration, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is helping the state in every way.
“I am very sure that Tamil Nadu deserves better what it has got for the last 50 years. Though parties change, politics doesn’t. Tamil Nadu deserves administration like what Narendra Modi ji is giving at the Centre,” Javadekar told the media here.
“Here, we must understand that it is Narendra Modi Government, which is helping Tamil Nadu in every way. It is Narendra Modi Government, which is giving a helping hand to the Tamilian people,” he added.
The BJP leader further said he had a fruitful and meaningful discussion with DMDK chief Vijayakanth.
“We are happy that in the last 24 hours, we have practically discussed with many of our allies the next course of action. I will brief what has been discussed here to our party president and the Prime Minister. I yesterday met IJK, IPP, NJP and AIAMMK and other outfits and some remaining outfits whose leaders were not here. We will meet again in this week itself and we will complete the process,” he added.
Slamming the Opposition, Javadekar stated that some people are putting their stamp on the schemes, but the people of Tamil Nadu know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi helped them during the flood.
“When there was flood, Narendra Modi came himself and gave nearly Rs. 2000 crore from the Central Government. People are distributing rice in one rupee or two rupees…and many state governments are saying that this is our scheme. But we made a calculation. There the Central Government is incurring Rs. 27 per kg and that’s a central subsidy, which goes to the people,” he added.
Javadekar, who is the election in-charge of BJP in Tamil Nadu, earlier met Vijayakanth to iron out issues posing hurdles to the formation of an alliance between the two parties. (ANI)
