The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) should come out with answers regarding the involvement of its leaders in the Saradha chit-fund scam rather than making baseless allegations against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the government.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao, who was reacting to the summons issued to TMC leader Mukul Roy by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam, said it is high time that they make a statement regarding the involvement of its leaders in the Saradha chit-fund scam.
“It would be appropriate for the political party itself to take action against them. What we have seen is that TMC simply makes allegations against the CBI and the government, now the people are expecting answers from TMC and not allegations,” he added.
TMC All India General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Roy has been called by the CBI for questioning in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam . Roy has been asked to appear before the CBI by the end of this week. (ANI)
