Telangana Jana Samithi would contest elections on its own in the coming elections, Samithi president Prof. M Kondandaram announced here today. The TJS would contest all the 119 Assembly seats in the State, he said, adding that there would be no hung Assembly after elections and his party would get majority.
Speaking to the media at the party office here today, Kodandaram bemoaned that the people were facing severe problems due to the increasing prices of petrol and diesel. He demanded that the Centre bring petrol and diesel prices under the ambit of GST. The Samithi has received 1,000 applications to join fray in the local elections, he said, adding that a meeting would be called on May 27 to interact with the applicants who want to contest in the local body elections on TJS party ticket, Kodandaram said.
