Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram on Monday said that there were nearly two lakh vacancies in various departments of the State Government.
Speaking after releasing the poster of rally of unemployed youth on February 22, the JAC chief said that the State Government should expedite the process of recruitment and provide employment to lakhs of jobless youth. He asked the government to give priority to Telugu medium candidates in appointments for Gurukul Schools.
Later, Kodandaram and representatives of other organisations, inaugurated the Education Struggle Yatra at Gun Park. The Yatra will continue till February 20 and will pass through all districts of Telangana. Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram said that there was a need for upgradation of infrastructure and other facilities in government institutions so as to provide proper access to poor students to higher education.
Academician Chukka Ramaiah, Haragopal, CPI General Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and other leaders were also present on the occasion. (INN)
