TITA Demands increased public transport in IT Corridor

Members of Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) today met Transport Minister Patnam Mahender Reddy in the Secretariat and congratulated him on taking charge as the first Transport Minister of Telangana State. They requested the minister to improve transport facilities and secured transport for the women employees, who travel from IT corridor to different parts of city.
TITA founder-president Sundeep Kumar Makthala discussed with the Transport Minister regarding various problems of IT professionals who depend on Public Transport. Makthala urged the minister to increase the special and 24X7 dedicated transport facility for working women in deserted IT corridors.
“Many IT employees still depend on private cabs for the long commute as the public transport service falls woefully short of expectation. About 40,000 passengers travel either by auto rickshaws or cabs in the IT corridor, and 10,000 auto rickshaws and cabs operate in the area. But the growing menace was the lack of public transport and dependence on car pool. If you missed your transport, then God alone could save you from the menace of private operators” said Makthala.
TITA also requested Transport Minister to provide special paths like ‘Green Lane’ for commuters, who use bicycle to their work place. “In recent times, we see the decent rise of Bicycling in the City. Safety and comfort is crucial to who use Bicycle to commute to work place” he added.
“Such initiations will make Hyderabad into a world-class city with a distinct brand image. If needed we are always ready to help Telangana Government in developing the software’s which supports setting up the environment for Intelligent Transport Systems and Transportation Demand Management,” TITA vice-president Naveen Reddy Gaddam said.
