Tirupati to host meet on Sanatana Dharma

Tirumala, November 02: The third Sanatana Dharma Prachara Sadassu will be held at Tirupati on November 29 and 30.

This was announced here today by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive officer IYR Krishna Rao and convention convener PVRK Prasad after a meeting held to discuss the preparations for the national event.

The TTD will, for the first time, raise its voice about the need for propagation of Hindu dharma and uplifting of some caste-based sections of society which are vulnerable to religious conversion. It will try to find solutions to these issues during the two- day conference.

According to Rao and Prasad, 65 pontiffs, mutt heads and seers from Dvaita, Advaita, Visishtadvaita traditional and modern mutt heads, heads of the Art of Living and such spiritual groups will attend.

The convention will discuss six important topics in as many sessions. The first on ‘How can temples in the state be turned into dharmic centres?’ will be coordinated by KV Ramanachary, principal secretary (endowments revenue). The second on ‘Conversions: Uplift of influenced sections on the basis of caste in the society’ will be coordinated by former principal secretary J Rambabu.

The third session will try to find the ways to remove the misconceptions on Hindu gods, goddesses, Puranas, traditional values.

Its coordinator will be Nagireddy, member of TTD Specified Authority and health secretery. The fourth will be on ‘Functioning of Dharmika Parishat and how to utilise it for Dharmika organisations and pontiffs and others.

The coordinator will be JVS Prasad, Commissioner of endowments. The fifth will be on ‘Future plans of TTD’s Central Dharmic council, focus on spreading the activity in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and other states. IYR Krishna Rao will be the coordinator.

The sixth and final session will discuss TTD schemes. J Satyanarayana will be the coordinator.The national convention was also aimed at stopping the intentional mudsling on the TTD, Prasad said.

SV Bhakti Channel, Vedic University, Central Dharmic Council, Dharmika Parishat, Govinda Kalyanam, state-level debates and competitions, Kalyanamastu and several other programmes were initiated by the TTD to propagate Hindu dharma, he said.
