Sir Syed Awareness Forum of Aligarh Muslim University organized a seminar on “Tipu Sultan’s concept of India”.
Addressing the Seminar, Lt. General Zameeruddin Shah, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University told that a person gets strength through education. This is the reason that the Jews are dominating the world. If we have knowledge and the support of Allah (SWT) we should not be afraid of anybody. He advised the students to concentrate on their studies to fulfill the dreams of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
Chief Guest of the function Mr. S.M. A. Kazimi, former Advocate General of A.P. told that the deeds of the Muslim rulers of this country are the living examples of composite culture. They impressed the non-Muslim with their justice that even today they remember the Muslim rulers. He lamented that an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of the Muslim rulers. He stressed the need for the new generation to study the good deeds their ancestors.
Prof. Saud Alam Qasmi, Dean of the Faculty of Theology said that the Governments function on the basis of justice and affection. Any rulers who does not follow these principles, has no right to continue his rule. Prof. Qasmi told that Tipu Sultan was poorer than the beggars and the best worshippers than the so-called religious leaders. During the day time he was a brave solder and during the night time he was the worshipper. Tipu Sultan is not a leader of the nation but he is the leader of the nation who enlivened that nation.
Dr. Shakeel Samdani, President of the Forum told that it is out national responsibility that we should remember Tipu Sultan on the day of his martyrdom. He told that most of the leaders of the country stress the need for secularism but they do not implement it but Tipu Sultan practices it. The fame of Tipu Sultan could be gauged from the fact that all the non-Muslim subjects of his state told the British to take away all their riches and leave Tipu Sultan. From the life of Tipu Sultan, we get a lesson that we should distinguish between our friends and foes because we find many black sheep around us. He requested the Vice Chancellor to establish a center for Tipu Sultan Strategic Studies at Aligarh Muslims University. Prof. Shafay Khidwai told that in the present political context, to remember Tipu Sultan is to revive a healthy tradition. A number of books have been written in Urdu on Tipu Sultan which show that India such a hero and a brave leader like Tipu Sultan.
Prof. N. A. K. Durrani (Mysore), told that the Tipu Sultan had a unique personality. He introduced Missile Technology to the world. He established a factory to prepare weapons. He defeated the British many times. Ms. Sabiha Seemeen Shah, wife of VC and others distributed certificates to the students. Secretary of the Forum, Mr. Mansoor Ilahi proposed voted of the thanks.
