Timely action of RPF foils train robbery

Hyderabad, June 10: The South Central Railway said that timely action by the escort staff belonging to Railway Protection Force, on duty in Mumai-Bangalore Udyan Exprees on June 7 foiled a train dacoity.

However four passengers and a guard suffered injuries.

The SCR said that the Express train was stopped by pulling chain between Mantralayam Road and Irnagallur stations on Raichur-Guntakal section on June 7 on which the RPF Staff who were on escort duty on the train, got down to carry out checking and saw that 15 to 20 miscreants were pelting stones at the train.

Escort staff alerted the passengers and tried to arrest the miscreants however they managed to flee in the darkness.
