Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police has made elaborate police arrangements for India-West Indies T-20 cricket match which will be played today at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagawat told that 1800 police personnel have been deployed at the stadium.
He informed about these arrangements in a press conference held yesterday. Mr. Azheruddin, the former caption of India Cricket team and currently, President of Hyderabad Cricket Association was also present in the press conference.
Mr. Bhagwat appealed to the cricket fans to make use of the public transport system to avoid traffic jams. He also told that the services of the Metro Rail will also be available from 10 pm to 1 a.m. tonight. In addition to it, RTC bus service will be available.
Food items are not allowed in the stadium. Laptop, cameras, matchbox, cigarette, batteries, bags and water bottles are also not allowed inside the stadium.
It may be mentioned that on 6th December, some organizations have given a call to stage protest to mark the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition. In this context, the police made elaborate arrangements.
