Tie-up with PRP likely for 2014 polls, says DS

Hyderabad, November 02: The Congress is looking beyond the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections to the 2014 general election while having an alliance with Praja Rajyam Party(PRP), Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president D Srinivas has said. After receiving positive signals from the party high command, the PCC president was completed preliminary discussions last night with PRP president Chiranjeevi and its leader Allu Aravind about alliance in the forthcoming GHMC elections. The PCC president had discussions with Greater Hyderabad City Congress Committee (GHMC) president and Health Minister D Nagendar at his residence.

He also had an interaction with party senior leaders like P Govardhan Reddy and Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha like other Congress leaders who were available in the city.

All the leaders expressed faith in the PCC president and they agreed with the party decision on the alliances in coming GHMC elections.

While speaking to reporters at his residence PCC president D Srinivas said that PRP leadership cae forward for an alliance with his party and the party high command and the State leadership positively reacted to it.

He said that preliminary discussions were completed and in the coming three or four days all the issues would be settled with PRP leadership.

He said that in the politics alliances would be finalised on the basis of the ideologies. The Congress agreed for an alliance with PRP in view of the larger interests of of the party, he elaborated.

He said that his party hoped the alliance would be continued still 2014 elections. “Congress party had no history of breaking alliances unless other partners differed with its fundamentals,’’ the PCC president clarified.
