Ticket scam: 8 GCA managing committee members resign

Panaji, November 02: Eight senior members of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) managing committee today resigned, days after the duplicate tickets controversy for the One-Day International between India and Australia surfaced.

Three GCA vice-presidents, three joint secretaries, secretary and treasurer tendered their resignation from the committee today, a GCA release said.

“GCA is going through a difficult phase. Giving resignation will help the association to revamp its committee, if necessary,” the release said, adding that the members have reposed their faith in GCA president Dayanand Narvekar.

Narvekar had earlier had admitted to serious lapses in the organisation of the India-Australia tie on October 24, which was washed out due to rains.
