Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) Mr. MA Khan yesterday called on Sonia Gandhi’s political advisor Ahmed Patel and Union Health Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad and made written representation to them for giving tickets to Muslim candidates in Rayachoti and Anantapur assembly constituencies for the bye-elections to be held in 18 assembly constituencies of Andhra Pradesh.
Later talking to Siasat news Mr. M A Khan told that Muslims’ stand is decisive in the 18 assembly constituencies of Seema-Andhra in which bye-elections are to be held and there are nearly 16 such assembly constituencies where victory of Muslim candidates is sure. Hence Congress should give tickets to Muslim leaders at Rayachoti and Anantapur. He told that it will have a positive impact on the 18 assembly constituencies and Muslim will support Congress.
He said the injustice meted out to Muslims in the state can be redressed by giving tickets to Muslim leader in 2 assembly constituencies.
The two leaders assured serious consideration on his representation.
