Thunderstorm warning issued for Telangana

Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department has issued thunderstorm warning for Telangana State.

“The low pressure area over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining central parts of south Bay of Bengal with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.1 km above mean sea level persists. The upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level over southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamilnadu coast has become less marked. However, the trough at 0.9 km above mean sea level now runs from Gulf of Mannar to North Interior Karnataka across Tamilnadu and South Interior Karnataka. Mainly low level Southeasterly / southerlies prevail over the Telangana State,” the MET Department said in its bulletin.

Therefore, shallow to moderate Fog/Mist conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana on Thursday. Thunderstorm accompanied with Hailstorm likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana on 26th and 27th January, the MET Department said.
