Three UP youths arrested for possessing firearms

Aurangabad, July 18: Three youths from Uttar Pradesh were today arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) here for possessing two revolvers and five live cartridges.

They were arrested from Padegaon, 10 km from here, following a tip off, ATS Police Inspector Rajkumar Sonawane said.

Two of them– Zia-ul-Hasan (25) and Mujahid Manna Qureshi (35) are residents of Moradabad district in UP while Ishrat Jalal Shahabuddin (34) comes from Faridabad.

The trio has been living in the city for last one and a half year, Sonawane said, adding police have also seized two cell phones from them.

Mujahid, who runs a plastic grain-manufacturing factory in Padegaon, told police that he brought revolvers on the insistence of Zia and Ishrat, Sonowne said.
