New Delhi: Three youth have been arrested for allegedly abducting their snooker buddy over a monetary dispute in north west Delhi, police said today.
The accused Pawan Sharma (25), Prashant (24) and Jagrit Chauhan were arrested by the police on the intervening night of December 25-26 and Nitin who was abducted by them was rescued from their car near Kanhaiya Nagar Metro station, said Vijay Singh, DCP(north west).
During interrogation, the trio divulged that Nitin and his friend had taken some loan from Pawan. When Pawan asked back his money, he was allegedly thrashed and humiliated.
Following this Pawan hatched a plan to teach a lesson to Nitin and invited him for negotiation on the matter at Subhash Place. When Nitin reached there, he was abducted by trio and another accused Mayank who was driving another car, he said.
Mayank sped away when the car of the arrested accused was stopped by a patrolling party of police.
The accused as well as Nitin were involved in betting on snooker game and used to give and take money besides putting stakes on games,, he said.
A case of abduction was registered against the arrested accused, at Keshavpuram police station and efforts were on to arrest the absconding accused, added the officer.
