Hyderabad: A 31-year-old painter was arrested by Balanagar police in 2016 for sexually abusing a minor girl.
The accused, Kari Ravi Sekhar (31), was convicted for three years of imprisonment and Rs. 2000 fine on Monday by Court Monitoring Cell of Cyberabad Commissionerate.
The accused had been booked under Section 354, 323, 448 of IPC and POCSO Act.
According to the police, the incident came to light after the neighbours rescued the girl and registered a complaint.
On 8th January 2016, when the minor girl was alone at her hut. Sekhar entered into the hut and raped her. He also tried to strangulate the girl. Listening to cries for help neighbours rescued the girl from clutches of the accused.
