New Delhi, August 17: Three women were arrested in the capital for their alleged involvement in picking pockets, police said today.
The arrested have been identified as Sarita, Jamuna and Maya. They were apprehended yesterday from near Turkman Gate while trying to escape after robbing a man in a bus.
“When the bus reached near Turkman Gate, three women came near the man, named Ghashyam Dutt, and one of the women pushed him and the three got down at Delite Cinema. Dutt got suspicious about them de-boarding the bus.
“He checked his bag and found that his purse containing cash Rs 470 and some documents was missing and he immediately raised alarm. A constable Virender Singh who was present there chased the women and caught them,” a senior police official said.
