Three students injured in NEHU campus clash

Shillong, September 08: Three students were injured in a clash among the students at the campus of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), prompting the authorities to initiate a meeting of students to diffuse tension.

An official of NEHU said the clash broke out after an Assamese student of B Tech department hailing from Namrup was allegedly beaten up by the students of Law department this afternoon.

Two of his friends were also injured. It was learnt that a love affair was behind the clash, officials said.

The injured were admitted at NEHU clinic.

No police complaint was filed but NEHU Vice-Chancellor Pramod Tandon convened an assembly of students to solve the problem.
