Three SIMI activists arrested in Akola

Akola, July 20: Three alleged activists of banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were arrested here when they were returning after attending a meeting at Mana village in Mutizapur taluka, police said today. SIMI literature was seized from their possession, they said.

The accused were identified as Sayyad Ibrahim Sayyad Musa, a resident of Rahemat Nagar in Pusad tehsil of Yeatmal district, Abudal Razzak Abdul Karim, a resident of Murtiwase in Jalna and Masud Khan Mahboob Khan, a resident of Aurangabad, District Superintendent of Police, Pravin Padwal told reporters. The activists were arrested yesterday from NH 6, near Murtizapur following a tip off when they were returning in an Indica car, he said.
