Three Saudis killed in China road crash

Beijing, August 03: A Saudi woman and her two daughters were among six people killed when a bus and car collided in China’s remote northwest Qinghai province, state media reported on Monday.

Another 21 people were injured, four seriously, in the accident Sunday in the mountainous region, Xinhua said, quoting police.

Four foreigners were initially reported killed in the collision in Garang, a town in a Tibetan populated area about 70 kilometres (43 miles) from the provincial capital Xining.

The Saudi woman was 45 and her daughters were aged seven and 19, Xinhua said.

The cause of the accident was being investigated.

Nearly 73,500 people died in road accidents in China last year, or just over 200 fatalities per day, according to police statistics.
