Hyderabad: Three people are contesting the elections from the same family but from the three different political parties. The parties are TRS, Congress and the Telugu Desam. Out of three, two family members are contesting from the same constituency.
Mr Kuna Srisailam Goud and his son Mr Vivekanand Goud are contesting against each other from Qutubullapur constituency. Mr Srisailam is contesting from the Congress ticket and whereas Mr Vivekanand is contesting with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Mr Srisailam Goud’s uncle is contesting from Sanathnagar constituency on the Telugu Desam’s ticket.
Mr Srisailam Goud won as an independent candidate in the 2009 elections, but in 2014 he got a ticket from the Congress but lost to his son Vivekanand Goud, who was contesting from the Telugu Desam, following which he moved over to the Telugu Desam.
Mr Venkatesh Goud kept away from politics in the beginning but was inspired to take up electoral politics when film actor Chiranjeevi came up with the Praja Rajyam. He joined up and secured the Kukatpally ticket in 2009 and contested against Mr Jayaprakash Narayan of the Lok Satta and lost.
According to the report published in the DC, the candidates have various business activities and maintain good relations with each other. All of them have started vigorous campaigning in their respective constituencies.
