Hyderabad, December 24: A 40-year-old pedestrian died on the spot after he was hit by a van.
The accident happened near Sahara Function Hall at LB Nagar late Friday. According to police, the deceased, P Venkateshwar Rao, met with the accident when an Eicher van hit him after it collided with another speeding DCM van from behind.
LB Nagar police registered a case against the van driver, who is said to be absconding.
In another incident, 38-year-old B Purshottam Balodaya, died on the spot after being hit by a speeding lorry while he was crossing the road near Begumpet police station. Purshottam was returning to his hom at Ashok Nagar in Secunderabad when the accident happened, Begumpet police said.
In a separate case, a 50-year-old man died on the spot after he was hit and run by an unidentified vehicle near Rajdhani Theatre in Chaitanyapuri police limits late Friday. The deceased was later identified as Raja Goud, a resident of Bhongir. Further investigations are on.
