Three motorists were killed on Wednesday when a GHMC truck knocked the bike they were travelling on at RK Puram flyover under Neredmet police station limits.
According to police, Ajay, 18, and Venkatesh, 19, both native of Nellore district of AP and Pranay, 23, a resident of Film Nagar, were travelling on a motorbike and was going towards Trimulgherry. The motorcycle on which they were travelling on collided head-on with a speeding truck (AP 12 W 1298) coming in the opposite direction.
Ajay, who was riding the bike in a bid to overtake a DCM truck moving ahead failed to notice and crashed into the truck. Due to the impact, all three fell to the ground and came under the wheels of the truck. Death was instant for Ajay and Venkatesh while Pranay died undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, the cops said.
A case has been registered against the truck driver under Section 304 A (Death caused due to negligence) of the IPC. Further investigation is underway. (INN)
