Rameswaram : Three members of a family,who had come here from Andhra Pradesh on a pilgrimage, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at a lodge here.
Police said the three – a 44 year-old man, his wife and teenage son had checked into the lodge yesterday.
The man and his son were found dead late last night,while the woman was rushed to the government Rajaji hospital, where she died without responding to treatment today, they said.
Their bodies were later handed over to relatives.
Police suspect the family took the extreme step as they were in debt.
