Gopeshwar: A car today fell into a gorge killing three pilgrims, including two women, and injuring one near Govindghat in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district.
The accident occurred when the pilgrims were returning after offering prayers at the famous Badrinath shrine in the Garhwal Himalayas, Chamoli SP Tripti Bhatt said.
The pilgrims, including the women from Rohtak in Haryana, were killed on the spot, she said.
The deceased have been identified as Guddi Devi, Sukhani Devi and Shobhan Singh, the SP said.
Anand Singh Bisht, who was injured in the accident, has been admitted at a government hospital in Joshimath, she said.
