Kochi, May 18: Three people died and 35 were injured, five of them seriously, when a superfast bus belonging to Kerala State Transport Corporation plunged off the road and fell 15 below close to a bridge on National Highway 47 near Angamaly.
The bus, coming from Coimbatore was bound for Thiruvananthapuram when the accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.
Among the deceased, two were identified as Mahipal, from Ayappankavu, near Kochi and Murugan, hailing from Pazhani.
The injured have been admitted to Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly. Transport Minister Jose Thettayil has ordered an enquiry into the accident.
