Three inmates of State Rescue Home attempt suicide

Three girls, lodged at the State Rescue Home at Yousufguda, allegedly attempted suicide on Thursday afternoon.

The girls have been identified as Choti Maa (16), Navya (15) and Soundarrya (17).

According to the Women and Child Welfare (WCW) Department officials, the three were amongst the group of 11 girls who had escaped from the Rescue Home last week. However, nine of them were traced and brought back by the police and the WCW Department officials.

On Thursday afternoon, three girls were found lying in a semi-conscious state on the premises by the staff. They are suspected to have consumed heavy dose of iron tablets. They were immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. They are now said to be in a stable condition. (INN)
