New Delhi, February 19: Three persons sustained minor bullet injuries at a central Delhi bank today when the service rifle of a security guard accidentally went off after it slipped from his shoulder, police said.
The incident took place at Karol Bagh’s Punjab National Bank at 10.40 am. A security guard identified as Narang Singh (60) was adjusting the strap of his service rifle when it slipped and fell on the floor and went off.
30-year-old Kahsyender Kumar, an online trading company employee, sustained injuries on his leg after splinters from the bullet hit him. Two others sustained injuries as well.
They were rushed to the nearby Jassa Ram hospital where they were discharged after first aid.
The security guard, a former army man, has been working with the bank for the past five years.
A senior police official said it was a case of accidental firing and no case has been registered.
