Three hideouts busted in J&K, 45 explosive devices recovered

Srinagar, July 14: Security forces on Monday busted three militant hideouts in Rajouri district and recovered large cache of arms and ammunition from each of them including 45 devices and 12 kgs of explosives, a 16 corps officer said.

A team of the Infantry Battalion busted a hideout in Tarala forest, three km from Peer Badesar border in Rajouri district and recovered one AK rifle, three radio sets, 20 IED receivers, 12 Kgs of an explosive, two pistol magazines, 9 hand grenades, 6 mortar bombs, three anti personal mines, 3 IEDs, 2 UGBL grenades, 4 RPG rounds, 2 mortar bomb fuses, 7 IED batteries and miscellaneous items of ration.

Another hideout was busted in Thanamandi area of the district by a joint team of the Rashtriya Rifles and state police which recovered a large consignment of arms and ammunition from there including one Chinese pistol with magazine, 10 rounds of pistol ammunition, two mortar bombs and 14 chinese grenades, he said.

A joint column of the Rashtriya Rifles and STF busted a hideout in general area Khankot in Kalakote belt of the district and recovered one 12 Bore gun, 16 rounds of AK ammunition, 200 gm. of explosive, two IEDs, he added.
