Three held in J-K for black marketing

Srinagar, January 08: Three persons, including a store-keeper of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, were arrested today for their alleged involvement in black marketing in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said Jalal-ud-din Naik alongwith two shopkeepers – Rasiq Beigh and Aslam Rather – were arrested from Waghama-Bijbehara, 45 km from here.

The storekeeper allegedly used to sell sugar and rice of ration store to the shopkeepers for black marketing, they said, adding about 100 kgs of sugar and 250 kg of rice were seized.

“The storekeeper had shown nil balance of sugar and rice in his store records, but during search two misappropriated bags of sugar and five bags of rice were recovered,” they said.
