Three held in Bulandshahr gangrape case

BULANDSHAHR: Police have arrested three men on Sunday evening, who allegedly gang-raped a 35-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter for three hours, after their family’s car was stopped on NH 91. The dacoits tied the women’s husband, who works as a private security guard in Noida.

The accused were identified as Raheesudeen of Sutari village in Bulandshahr, Shahwaiz of Hapur district and Jabar Singh of Gautam Budh Nagar district. “Identities and roles of four others are being verified,” Meerut DIG Laxmi Singh said.

Seven police officials had been suspended on charges of laxity till Sunday evening. Police have detained two others for questioning Babloo belonging to Faridabad and Naresh of Bathinda.

The police said Shahwaiz and Jabar Singh have previous cases of looting. Additional Director General, Law and Order, Daljit Singh Chawdhary said all the six family members who were in the car had identified the three men arrested so far. SSP, Bulandshahr, Vaibhav Krishna, who was suspended later in the day, said the victims had said seven to eight people were involved in the crime.

An FIR was lodged against the seven- eight miscreants on charges of dacoity and gangrape.
