Three go missing from Secunderabad

Hyderabad, August 29: Three persons have been allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from the busy Secunderabad area.

The trio were forcibly taken away in an auto and thei whereabouts are not known, police said.
Though the incident took place two days back, a case of kidnap was registered on Sunday, following a complaint by the family of one abducted person.

According to police, Vasudeva Rao of Nimboliadda, Venumadhav Rao of Ghatkesar and Narsaiah of Kukatpally were former employees of postal department.
Venumadhav Rao and Vasudeva Rao, who are cousins met Narsaiah at Jeedimetla on August 26 and the trio came to Alpha hotel near Secunderabad station.
Narsaiah who took voluntary retirement from service, is working as a casual employee at the Jeedimetla post office.

At Alpha hotel, one Baba from Karimnagar met them.
Baba is a friend of Venumadhav Rao and after having a conversation for sometime, they started walking towards Chilkalguda crossroads to catch a bus.

“The four crossed the Oliphanta bridge and had reached near the bus stand when Narsaiah received a call on his mobile.
Narsaiah was walking a little behind when nearly three-four persons came in an auto and forcibly took the three others away,” Gopalpuram police inspector T Radesh Murali said.
Narsaiah, however, did not inform the matter to police or to relatives of the abducted persons.

As his father did not return home, Vasudeva Rao’s son Karthik questioned Narsaiah who informed about the alleged kidnap.
“The mobile phones of the trio are switched off.
They could not be contacted and a case of kidnap has been registered,’’ the inspector said.
Police, however, said the possibility of the trio being abducted seems to be unlikely.

“It is a busy area with presence of thousands of people.
The incident happened around 7 p.m and no one noticed the abduction,” a police officer said.

Police are also verifying Narsaiah’s claims the trio were forcibly taken away by three-four persons in an auto.
According to police, Venumadhav was suspended from service after he allegedly committed a fraud.

He was earlier the postmaster in Godavari Khani post office.
Baba is a native of Peddapally in Karimnagar and also has a criminal background.
