A man and his two sons were on Sunday killed after being run over by a train while they were crossing tracks in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 AM when Balaji Singh and his family members were returning to Vizianagaram after a sight-seeing excursion to Champavathi river in Nellimerla mandal, a senior GRP official said.
Balaji and his sons got down from a flyover after parking their two-wheeler and went to answer nature’s call near the railway tracks and while they were returning, a passenger train (Vizianagaram to Palasa) hit them as they were crossing the double tracks, resulting in their death, the GRP official said.
A goods train was passing on another track when the accident occurred. The deceased were identified as – Balaji Singh (40), his two sons Purushotham (8) and Anik (4), they said.
