Hyderabad: The cyclonic circulation continues to bring rain in the Telugu speaking states. Light to moderate rain or thunder showers are likely at some places in TS.
However, Indian Metrological Department (IMD) issued a heavy rainfall warning at isolated places in the districts of Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothadugem, Nagar Kurnool, Suryapet, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nalgonda and Jogulamba Gadwal on Thursday.
Thunder storm accompanied with lightning are likely at isolated places in TS. South-west monsoon though has completely withdrawn from the state. The city witnessed a drop in temperature on Wednesday due to the onset of the northeast monsoon south of peninsular India with the mercury plummeting to 25.6 degree Celsius, while on Thursday the temperature again rose to 30.0 degree Celsius.
The IMD said, “A trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation over Maldives to Telangana across Kerala, South interior Karnataka and Rayalseema, between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
The trough in easterlies from southwest Bay of Bengal off south Tamil Nadu coast to west central Bay of Bengal has become less marked.”Parts of Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall – areas such as Serilingampally, Santosh Nagar, Charminar and Malakpet received more than 20 mm rain.
According to Telangana State Development and Planning Society weather forecast update, “The weather conditions over the state suggest light to moderate rain/thunder showers at a few places for next three days (October 17-20).
Maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 31 degree Celsius to 33 degree Celsius, while the minimum in the range of 21 degree Celsius to 24 over the next three days.”
