Three-day RSS conclave in Nagpur from tomorrow

RSS will discuss a host of key issues, including inter-state water distribution and border disputes, during its three-day meeting beginning tomorrow, a top functionary of the Sangh said today. Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha will be held at the RSS’ Reshimbagh premises here. “About 1,400 swayayamsewaks holding important positions and heads of various committees will attend the meeting, which also see the election of Sarkaryawah (General Secretary),” Manmohan Vaidya, Prachar Pramukh (publicity wing chief) of RSS, told reporters.

Inter-state water distribution, border disputes and growing linguistic-based divisions, among other issues, will be discussed at the high-level conclave, he said. It will also take up the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekanand, which will begin in January next year. Various committees are being formed to celebrate the occasion, Vaidya said. To a question, Vaidya said the Sangh played a role of mediator between the warring groups in Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the water distribution from Mullaperiyar dam. About the election of Sarkaryawah, Vaidya said it will be known only on the last day (March 18). RSS functionaries like Bal Apte, Ramlalji and V Satish, who work in the BJP, will also participate in the meeting, he said.
