Hyderabad: An inter-state fake currency racket was busted by Hyderabad police today with the arrest of three persons including two from West Bengal.
Police seized counterfeit currency with face value of Rs seven lakh from them.
On a tip-off, the sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force (East Zone) apprehended S K Gouse, a local, and Mohd Kaimul Haque and Saleem Miya of Malda district, West Bengal, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy said.
“Kaimul Haque and Saleem Miya came to Hyderabad this morning. When they were handing over the fake currency to Gouse at a place under Bhavani Nagar Police Station limits, a police team nabbed them,” Reddy said.
The fake currency was found to be of high quality and was suspected to be printed in Malda, he said.
